COZUMEL MEXICO HOLIDAY
NOVEMBER - 2004

14 Texans - mostly from Bayou Vista took a vacation for 4 days to Cozumel, Mexico. We all stayed at the lovely Iberostar, which was a maze of Mexican-style bungalows in the midst of a lush rainforest type jungle. As you walk the trails of the beautiful gardens you would come upon macaws, parrots, pink flamingos & peacock on well manicured grounds. One of the typical bungalows is in the photo on the left. Standing on the porch is Joe, Donna, Sam & Patti ready for the pool bar after just arriving.

The house specialties was Coco Loco mmmmm Good!

On the first day everyone headed to the pool bar to par take in drinks and pool games. On the left you can see Jennifer Moga & Tracy Bumpas trying to slam each other off the board. I do believe Tracy won that round.

The next day some of us decided to go snorkeling. The boat on the right took us to 3 different reefs. We were able to see turtles, starfish, parrot fish and the beautiful coral reefs. We had a blast with the crew as they gave us Tequila shots and danced with us.

We never lacked anything to do, and the gang was good about entertaining our selves no matter where we were. On the left is Tracy, Donna & Jennifer in the Ibeorstar lobby showing the folks how to do the Bayou Vista Shit Face Shuffle. Later that night in the disco we decided to rename the dance to the Cozumel Shit Face Shuffle. We had a habit of meeting vacationers who wanted to join our fun group, even if it happen to be a statue in the lobby.

In the above photo from left to right: Mark, Brenda, Jennifer, Tracy, Chris Scott & Adrianne. We are having drinks before our dinner reservations for the evening.

Our time in Cozumel was not complete till we took a very fast cab ride to Mezcalitos Beach Bar & Grill. Upon arriving we found Wilson's long lost cousin hanging out in the bar. Brenda & Mark just had to have their photo taken with him so they would have proof to fellow Bayou Vistans of his sighting. Come to find out, Mezcalitos is the birth place of  Wilson!
